Registration with the Graduate School EPS for LU/RU/RUG/MU/UU/UvA/VU PhD candidates
1) Registration – before or at start of PhD project
To start your registration, please fill in the required information in the registration form in consultation with your supervisors and have them send the form electronically to Anja Mosselman. It is possible to exclude the information about the mentor at this time. This registration step will ensure that you will receive specific mailings and the EPS News.
2) Hand in approved Training and Supervision Plan/Agreement (TSP/TSA) – within 3 months after start
The second step in the EPS registration procedure, which will also make you eligible for reduced fees for courses and events organized by EPS or partners, is to hand in a copy of your approved Training and Supervision Plan/Agreement (TSP/TSA) from your own university. You can send this copy to the PhD programme coordinator & PhD advisor Susan Urbanus. If you did not identify your mentor previously in the registration form, then please send along a revised registration sheet including the information about the mentor when you send the copy of your approved TSP/TSA. If your university does not have its own TSP/TSA, you are of course welcome to use the EPS TSP for WUR PhD candidates instead, which can be found under EPS Documents.
3) Optional service: PhD project proposal review – within 6 months after start
Although it is not a part of the EPS PhD registration procedure for LU/RU/RUG/MU/UU/UvA/VU PhD candidates, there is an option to hand in your PhD project proposal for a review procedure via the EPS office. Writing your own proposal, or rewriting and expanding on an original proposal, will be helpful to get a clearer picture of which research questions you want to answer and in which way, help plan your work packages, and also enable you to get better acquainted with existing literature. If you want your project proposal to be reviewed by an independent PI, please hand in your proposal in the EPS format to Anja Mosselman, preferably within 6 months after the start of your PhD project.
