Registration WUR
1) Registration – before start of PhD project
To start your registration, please fill in the required information in the PhD registration form together with your supervisor(s) and then send it to the EPS office assistant Anja Mosselman (anja.mosselman@wur.nl), with your supervisor(s) in the cc. It is possible to exclude the information about the mentor at this time. More information about the entry requirements for registration of WUR PhD candidates can be found under EPS Documents. This registration step will ensure that an account in the Hora Finita database for WUR PhD candidates is made for you, and additionally that you receive specific mailings and the EPS News.
2) Training and Supervision Plan (TSP) – within 3 months after start
The second registration step is to outline your training plan, agreements on supervision, and agreements on possible teaching & supervision duties in the EPS TSP file. The sheet ‘Training Plan’ must contain a plan of your training activities, encompassing a minimum of 30 ECTS credits. More detailed information about the specifics of the training can be found here. The PhD candidate needs to upload the filled in and signed TSP (signed ‘Supervision’, ‘Teaching’ and ‘Training Plan’ sheets) in either excel format or PDF format into their Hora Finita account for approval within 3 months after the start. An approved TSP will make you eligible for reduced fees for courses and events organized by EPS or partners.
3) PhD project proposal & Data Management Plan – within 3-6 months after start
The third registration step is to get your (rewritten) project proposal approved. Please use the EPS project proposal format, which you can find under EPS Documents to describe your PhD project and planning. If your PhD project is part of a larger grant, you can refer to this grant where appropriate, but please do not forget to include this grant proposal in your PhD project proposal when you upload your project proposal in your Hora Finita account. Writing your own proposal, or rewriting and expanding on an original proposal, will be helpful to get a clearer picture of which research questions you want to answer and in which way, help plan your work packages, and also enable you to get better acquainted with existing literature. The approval process usually involves sending the project proposal out for review, unless the project proposal is an already granted project proposal that was not rewritten by the PhD candidate.
Additionally, you need to upload the Data Management Plan from your group in your Hora Finita account.
