SUMMARY:Summer School Environmental Signaling in Plants
DESCRIPTION:13th Utrecht PhD Summer School “Environmental Signaling in Plants”\nWe would like to invite you to join the PhD Summer School that has an attractive program with many expert speakers in the field of environmental signaling in plants. In addition to the invited speakers\, there are 3 parallel sessions in the program for oral presentations by PhD students that will be selected from submitted abstracts. Moreover\, there will be ample opportunity for discussions with speakers and fellow PhD students during breaks/lunch and the poster viewing session. The meeting is especially attractive for PhD students\, but the program will also be of interest to post-docs and senior scientists. The summer school is truly international; in past years it has attracted students from many European countries and even from outside Europe. We hope to see you this summer in the beautiful and lively historic city of Utrecht! \nInvited speakers for 2026 are:\nMariana Silva Artur\nRoeland Berendsen\nLaura Bacete\nNiko Geldner\nBruno Guillotin\nCaroline Gutjahr\n\nMatthew Paul\nLaura Ragni\nPriya Ramakrishna\nAri Sadanandom\n\nDaan Weits\n\n\nClosing keynote: Marcel Beukeboom\, director of Naturalis\, previously the permanent representative of Kingdom of the Netherlands to FAO.\n\nThe registration & abstract submission close on 7th June!\nPlease find more information on the UU website: EPS Summer School | Universiteit Utrecht | Home \n

SUMMARY:EPS Theme 2 Symposium “Interactions between plants and biotic agents”
DESCRIPTION:EPS Theme 2 Symposium & Willie Commelin Scholten day \nJoin the EPS theme 2 Symposium and learn more about how plants interact with many harmful organisms (pathogens\, pests\, parasitic plants) and beneficial ones (microbes\, pollinators\, and natural enemies of pests). Junior and senior researchers present their research on pathogen virulence\, plant resistance and susceptibility\, multitrophic interactions\, and how plants balance defense with beneficial relationships. \nDate: 2 October 2026 \nTime: 09:00-17:30 \nLocation: Science Park\, Amsterdam \nFee: free for EPS members\, non-EPS members €75\, Industry €150* \n*You may cancel free of charge up to 1 month before  \nRegistration: open \nDeadline: 15 September 2026 \nOrganizers: Karen Kloth (WUR)\, Frank Takken (UvA) and Juliane Teapal (EPS) \nPresent your research! \nAre you an EPS PhD candidate or postdoc and would you like to present your research at this symposium? Contact the organising committee and send them a summary (3-5 sentences) of your research. In case there are not sufficient spots\, we will do a selection.

SUMMARY:EPS Theme 4 Symposium "Genome Biology and Gene Regulation"
DESCRIPTION:EPS Theme 4 Symposium “Genome Biology and Gene Regulation” \nDuring the theme 4 symposium\, junior and senior researchers present and discuss how the interaction between genes\, molecules\, and epigenetic mechanisms leads to complex physical traits. For a plant to function optimally\, precise gene expression regulation and the inactivation of transposons are essential. The presented research covers diverse disciplines\, including genetics\, bioinformatics\, and plant breeding. Due to this broad scope and the central role of genome data\, this field is intimately connected with other biological themes. Learn more about it and join the EPS Theme 4 symposium.\n\n\n\n\nDate: 9 December 2026 \nTime: 09:00-17:30 \nLocation: Science Park\, Amsterdam \nFee: free for EPS members\, non-EPS members €75\, Industry €150* \n*You may cancel free of charge up to 1 month before. There is a no-show fee.  \nRegistration: open \nDeadline for registration: 25 November 2026 \nOrganizers: Maike Stam (UvA)\, Aalt-Jan van Dijk (UvA) and Juliane Teapal (EPS) \nPresent your research! \nAre you an EPS PhD candidate or postdoc and would you like to present your research at this symposium? Contact the organising committee and send them a summary (3-5 sentences) of your research. In case there are not sufficient spots\, we will do a selection.
