SUMMARY:EPS course “Applied Statistics for Plant Scientists”
DESCRIPTION:Lectures and computer practical’s. The computer practical’s will be based on statistical approaches/question within the plant science research field \nIn the course the following subjects will be addressed:\n– Hypothesis testing: T-test\, ANOVA\, F-test\, multiple comparisons tests.\n– Experimental design: completely randomized design (CRS)\, randomized complete block design (RCBD)\, factorial design with interaction.\n– Linear regression\, multiple linear regression\, linear models with qualitative and quantitative variables\, selection of variables.\n– Sample size \nHalf the course will be used to make exercises with R-Studio using examples from the plant sciences. \nDates: June 16\, 17 and 19 \nFee\n275 € for PhD candidates of EPS with an accepted TSP \n400 € for postdocs registered with EPS \n500 € EPS staff members \n550€ for all other employees at the Universities \n1100 € Industry \nStaff members€500registered with EPSPhD€275\,-registered with EPS and accepted TSPPostdoc€400\,-registered with EPSUniversity€550Employees of any universityIndustry€1100\,-Register
