Funding from the Dutch Research Council (NWO) after PhD time

The Rubicon programme allows scientist and academicians who recently obtained their PhD to gain experience at a foreign knowledge institute.

The aim of the NWO Talent Programme is to provide creative space for adventurous, talented, pioneering researchers to do research of their choice, develop their own line of research and further develop their talent. The Talent Scheme has Veni grants for researchers who have recently graduated, Vidi grants for experienced researchers who have already conducted several years of research after gaining their PhD, and Vici grants for senior researchers who have already demonstrated the ability to develop their own line of research.

Funding from European Union for early-career researchers

The Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) are designed to support transnational, intersectoral and interdisciplinary mobility. They include funding for short-term research mobility, and individual fellowships for experienced researchers (for two-year research stays abroad).

The European Research Council (ERC) offers individual grants for innovative ERC Starting Grant for young early-career researchers (2-7 years after PhD, up to € 1.5 million).
