Vivianne Vleeshouwers elected as EMBO member

Congratulations to Vivianne Vleeshouwers on her election as an EMBO member. EMBO members are recognized for their outstanding achievements in the life sciences

This election is an international recognition of Vleeshouwers’ scientific contribution to plant breeding, molecular plant biology and research into plant diseases.

In her research, Vleeshouwers focuses on how potatoes can be made more resistant to plant diseases such as potato late blight and Stolbur. Her research contributes to the development of more robust potato varieties and to crop production that is less dependent on crop protection products.
